North of the city center, Kansas City International Airport (MCI) provides a variety of ground transportation choices, serving the counties of Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and beyond.

Run by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA), the onsite Metro bus service is in operated from Monday to Friday, with fixed fares payable either in cash as you board, or by simply using bus passes.
Shuttle buses are also available and travel to in excess of 60 different destinations, both in and around Kansas City. Operated by the Metro, shuttles collect passengers from outside of the terminal building eight times a day, at regular intervals. Additional shuttle services are provided by Aero Express, Best Express, Five Guys Shuttle, KCI Roadrunner Express, MO-X, Quicksilver, Rick's Express, Spirit, SuperShuttle and VIP Transportation. Free telephones for taxis are to be found both at each of the baggage reclaim areas, along with other designated locations. The journey from MCI Airport into central Kansas City will take around 35 minutes. Bear in mind that you can save costs by simply sharing your trip with another passenger heading in the same direction, if there is space in your taxi.
